Hello,
My Visual Studio is again not working for XSLT/XSL-FO transformations. The error message that displays is:
FileLoadException
Loading this assembly would produce a different grant set from other instances. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131401).
All I’m doing is opening an XSL, in the properties box I select the XML that I want to run against the XSL and then I select the Run XSL button which is on my toolbar.
The version installed is 17.9.7.
Please let me know if there is a fix for the issue, which seems to come and go frequently.

I tried to reproduce this issue in VS 2022 Pro 17.9.7 but failed. If you try to relaunch VS, and run the XSLT again, will this error appear again? Is the output file a .html/.htm file?
Besides, does this issue also appear on other XSLT files? If you try to set the Output property and specify a filename with other extensions, will the same error appear?

I have this issue as well with XSLT file. I using VS Pro v. 17.10.0.
Error message: Loading this assembly would produce a different grant set from other instances. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131401)
The error point soon we open tha XSLT file in the 1st line:
I try already without success:
1 - Close VS and open again.
2 - Close VS, delete binand obj folders and open VS again
3 - Close VS, delete binand obj folders and open VS again Build the solution
So, any solution or work around?

Same here for me at 17.10.3 when running xslt transform test.

I have the same issue when trying to run a XML transform. I'm using version 17.10.4

Having this problem since this week with
Visual Studio 2026 Insiders [11723.189]
And
Version 17.14.31
Was working fine before. I would say before recent updates of both Visual Studio

In answer to the question, I'm not getting the chance to try to render, the message displays as soon as I open the XSL and point to the first line in the XSL. When the transformation is working, I render to both HTM and XML (for PDF generation).

If you try to reboot your machine and test again, will this error appear again?
Also, will resetting VS work(run devenv /ResetSettings in Developer Command Prompt for Visual Studio 2022)?
Actually, I am not sure if this issue also appears on a newly created project/file. If you can confirm this, it will be useful for narrowing down the issue.
