Edge Chromium Mac OS Slow Tab Switching Behavior

Mac OS Catalina - using for my work

Macbook Pro 2017

2.5 GHz i7

16 GB RAM

No fancy flags enabled.

When I switch tabs, the switching part takes a lot of time and is choppy.

I haven't seen this behavior in other Chromium based browsers on the same hardware.

Tried clearing the cache and everything (new profile as well) and the problem exists.

Extensions: None

Any workarounds or flags I should enable?

    You don't seem to be the only one with this problem.

    Try this.

    Go in Edge Settings and on the left pane, select "Privacy, Search, and Services".

    Scroll down to the bottom and disable the "Save time and money with Shopping in Microsoft Edge" function.

    Apparently this would solve the problem.
