I often have problems opening a hyperlink in Edge. The page remains blank while the circle keeps spinning in the Tab. However, I can usually get the site to then open immediately by pressing refresh (CTRL+R). It shouldn't be necessary to do that to open site. Why does a normal hyperlink invocation not work?

Thanks, the Canary version does have a much better response time. I will mark your reply as having solved the problem.
Yes, I do get the "about:blank" message in the address bar. I only had two extensions installed: Draw On Page, and Norton Password Manager. I uninstalled Draw On Page, but I've had the Norton extension for a long time and don't want to uninstall it. When I switch to InPrivate mode, I no longer see MSN New Tab news links, so I couldn't really test the site access problem. I don't know what you mean by the "Canary" version of Edge. Also, not sure what you mean by "changing my network environment".
Hello MesPia.
Welcome to Microsoft Community.
Regarding to your information I assume that your Edge have some issues when you open the hyperlink.
Could you please confirm if the address bar shows "about:blank" if you don't refresh?
This seems to be a problem that occurs during the request sending process, and normally Edge should not have such an issue.
Have you installed any extensions on Edge? If you have, please temporarily disable them and check if the issue persists.
Additionally, try testing in InPrivate mode (Ctrl+Shift+N) to see if the same problem occurs.
If possible, check if the issue also occurs in the Canary version of Edge, as this will help us determine if it is a specific problem
with the stable version of Edge. Lastly, if possible, try changing your network environment to see if that resolves the issue.
