Microsoft sign in redirection when trying to sign in.

I'm trying to get log in to my open university account and when I go to log in it redirects me to log in using a Microsoft account. My college Microsoft account is already logged in so I click on it and it says I don't have a open university account with that which is true. It's my other email but when I try and log in using that email it says the same. I've tried using Samsung Internet instead of chrome and same issue. I just need this pop up to stop. Help 😅

    Hello Charlotte Kelly1,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community!

We understand your frustration with always being redirected to Microsoft Login when logging into The Open University.

This issue can be caused by a number of possible factors. I note that you have tried to test the issue by changing your browser, which suggests that the issue is not related to caching or cookie issues,on balance, what you are experiencing is likely to be related to one of the following:

    1. Account linkage issue: There may be an issue with the linkage settings between your OU account and your Microsoft account. You need to confirm whether the OU account is registered with another email address.
    2. Multiple account conflicts: If you are logged into more than one Microsoft account at the same time on the same browser, this may cause a conflict in the authentication process. Try logging out of all Microsoft accounts and logging back in using only the email address associated with the Open University account.
    3. Third-party login service issues: If the Open University is using Microsoft accounts as a third-party login service, there may be configuration or compatibility issues. Contact the Open University's technical support department to explain the specific problem you are experiencing when logging in with your Microsoft account and they may need to assist with back-end or service configuration issues.

In short, the issue may involve a number of aspects such as account association settings, third-party login service configuration, and so on. If you are using the correct email address and are still experiencing this issue, you will need to contact Open University Technical Support for more specific guidance and assistance.

    Best Regards ,

Hi Charlotte, I'm here to help with your problems.

Here's a guide to troubleshoot and resolve this problem:

    1. Clear Browser Cookies and Cache
    • Start by clearing your browser's cookies and cache. Sometimes, stored data can cause unexpected behavior.
    1. Try Incognito/Private Browsing Mode
    • Open an incognito or private browsing window in your browser and attempt to log in to your Open University account again.
    • This mode does not store cookies, so it might bypass any redirection issues caused by cached data.

I would suggest clearing your cache and logging back in.

If you have any other questions, please ask me again.

    Best regards,

    Yu
