as you can see in the example I would like to keep the annotation but without having the big annotation icon because that covers words on lines above the annotation and for you to know what the hidden word is you have to hide all annotations which defeats the whole purpose of using EDGE annotations to explain stuff on a pdf.
So, is there to a way to make the annotation icon smaller? or hide it without hiding the annotation itself?

Hi,
Unfortunately, there's no way to remove the icon while keeping the annotations. However, you might be able to make it smaller by disabling the current Adobe-powered PDF viewer.
Go to edge://flags > search for New PDF Viewer and set is as Disabled

Is this screenshot from MS edge? I cannot find this option. Could you lay the path to this new pdf viewer? I cannot find it.
Yes, I took that screenshot in Edge. Just type edge://flags into the address bar and search for the flag shown in the image.
I was searching for that using the main settings search on Edge. Thank you for clarifying that. Now the icons are smaller, and they do not hide entire words.
