Removing existing teams or channels from Microsoft Teams when no longer needed
Dear Gonzalez_Luis,
Good day! Thank you for your patience.
Since you cannot see the channel in Teams, the Deleted tab, or the files in the Recycle Bin, it is possible that:
- The entire Team was deleted instead of just the channel.
- A retention policy or SharePoint settings might be preventing recovery.
- The Team still exists, but your access was revoked or changed.
Ask a Global Admin or Teams Administrator to check if the Team is deleted:
- Go to Microsoft 365 Admin Center → Teams & Groups → Deleted Groups.
- If found, select the Team → Restore.
Reference: Restore a deleted Microsoft 365 group.
Since OneDrive shows "Owner: Name of Team", it means the Team still exists, but you might have lost access.
Try accessing the files directly in SharePoint:
- Go to: SharePoint → Open your Team site.
- Check the permissions by clicking Gear Icon (⚙️) > Site permissions.
- If your access is missing, ask an Admin to restore your permissions.
Reference: Manage site permissions in SharePoint.
