Team - Create a shared file for a group chat with important chat messages

Hey guys,

I was looking at finding an option in teams where I can bookmark or make a group-accessible file that includes only particularly selected messages as a backlog. I have gone through the options but couldn't figure out if such a thing exists.

Any recommendations would be deeply appreciated.

Thank you

Navigate to the chat or channel containing the message you wish to bookmark. Press and hold the message you want to save. Click on the Save option that appears.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

    Hello Education12,

    Thanks for the update.

To compile selected messages into a file accessible to your team members, follow these steps.

Navigate to the Files tab within your Microsoft Teams channel.

Click on Open in SharePoint, which will direct you to SharePoint in your web browser, displaying the team's file structure.

In SharePoint, locate and click on the settings icon (usually denoted by a gear or three dots).

Select Library settings, then choose More Library settings. Click on Permissions for this document library.

    Choose for Stop Inheriting permissions.

Choose Only Members and proceed to click the Edit User permission button.

Deselect the Edit permission and select the Read permission. Members, excluding owners, will now have read-only access to the files in this library.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

    Best regards, Oluwatosin.

Thank you for getting back to me. If I am correct this is for personal use but I want a way to make it accessible for the whole team in the chat as a way to track changes or particular subjects already discussed.
