those steps are not working for me. I am unable to open word or excel

My name is Jackson and thank you for your question.

May I confirm if what you are trying to do is to switch from your personal account to your school account on your personal PC?

If so we can try the following steps;

1. Open any Microsoft Office application on your laptop, such as Word or Excel.
2. Click on the "File" tab in the top left corner of the screen.
3. Click on "Account" in the left-hand menu.
4. Under the "User Information" section, click on "Switch Account".
5. Sign out of your personal account if you are currently signed in.
6. Sign in with your school account credentials.
7. Once you are signed in, your Microsoft 365 subscription associated with your school account will be activated on your laptop.
