When I use chat, the chat list never appears no matter how long I wait.

The only thing I see on the screen is "Start a private chat."

However, if I restart the application a few times, it appears.

    Hello 4J-13 f21040_一関高専,

    Good morning!

Thank you for publishing in Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

Based on your description we understand that your chat group list doesn't appear when you open the teams chat application. Instead, you only see the option to "Start a private chat." This problem persists regardless of how long you wait, but sometimes restarting the application a few times makes the chat list appear.

However, to better understand the problem and provide a solution, we need more details from you, please provide us with the following information. Thank you.

1-Please can you check in your teams on the web if you are facing the same issue? can you share some screenshot of your issue it can help us

2-If you do encounter chat records disappearing, please try clearing the new Teams cache and then check again to see if your records exist.

3-Sometime window's width a little until the chat pane is locked open. I believe it hides the chat list dynamically when the width of the teams window is too small.

4-You can Click on the Chat icon on the left-hand side of the screen.

    • Click on the Chat icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
    • Type the name of the chat you want to find in the To search field and enter.
    • Select the chat from the search results.
    • the chat should now appear in the chat list on the left

Also check if your teams doesn't present the chat icon as the picture below

    Image

If yes it mean your teams is on combined views, you should set it to separate views. Go to your teams setting < chats and channel < check separate and go back to check if you can see

We look forward to your reply. This requested information will help us narrow down the scenario and find the right troubleshooting. We will continue to assist you based on the information you provide. I sincerely appreciate your patience and cooperation. SincerelyEben Ezer Tres | Microsoft Community Moderator
