Is there a way of accessing the reading progress tool without it being set as an assignment?

Am I able to access and use the reading progress tool with my class without setting it as an assignment? My students do not have log ins, the children in the school do not use Microsoft teams (more the adults/ teachers) and I would still like to use the reading progress tool to track the children's reading.

Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Teams for education | Speaker coach/ Speaker progress

    Hello Emily D,

I'm Segunfunmi, an Independent Advisor and Microsoft user like you. Thank you for posting your query in this forum.

The Reading Progress tool in Microsoft Teams is designed to be used as part of an assignment. This is how it works: educators create a Reading Progress assignment in Teams, students record their reading on camera and submit it, and then educators mark and return their work. The data from this process is automatically collected and organised in Insights.

However, based on your situation, where the students do not have logins and do not use Microsoft Teams, it might be challenging to use the Reading Progress tool in its standard format. From my research and based on the information I found, there doesn’t seem to be a way to use the Reading Progress tool without it being set as an assignment in Teams.

I would recommend contacting your school’s IT department for further assistance. They might be able to provide a solution tailored to your specific situation.

    Best regards, Segunfunmi,
