Teams private channel new post permissions.

I have made a few private channels in my company team and then added members however the members are not able to create new posts but only reply to others posts. Is this normal? is there a permission i am not seeing to give members of the private channels the ability to also start posts? i have looked aound and can not seem to see one i would like to avoid setting all of them as owners if possible.

    No, i am referring to the fact that the members can not start posts. they can only reply to messages and i want thm to have the ability to do so. Im not sure if that is a permission or normal.

    Thanks for this post but we are both having problems in private channels and this help article does not apply to private channels, there are no moderation permissions for private channels.

    I just made him an owner of the channel and it solved the problem. Not ideal and not needed for all other team members, but a workaround.

    I am also experiencing this same issue. It is unique to one user on one team right now but, in a private channel. There are no moderation tools in private channels but it seems like a permission is "stuck." User can reply to posts but not start a new conversation. User CAN start new posts on other teams and other users in this team having an issue can post to private channels.

    Have tried deleting the user and inviting again from both the channel and the team - did not fix.

    I am Igor, an Independent Advisor and I will be glad to help you with this question.

    By default, any team owner or team member can create a private channel and add members. Guests can't create them. Your admin can change this permission and limit private channel creation to certain roles.
