Dear Kapaleeswaran V,
Welcome to the Microsoft Community.
I understand that you have created a quiz in PowerPoint and would like to be able to share the saved PPS file with others and collect the test answers, I understand how you feel and will try to help you.
In order to better understand the status of the questions, I would like to confirm some information with you:
- Can I ask if you are currently creating the quiz yourself in PowerPoint using a form, or have you inserted the form in PowerPoint? I would like to talk to you about how you created the quiz.
- Are you currently using a personal account or an educational or corporate account?
- Do you want to save the PPS file as the following file or as a .ppsx file? File format reference for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint - Office | Microsoft Learn
We need to explain to you that after further testing based on your description, we found that PPS files are mainly used for showing presentations and do not support recording answers directly on the slides. For more sophisticated interaction and answer collection features, you may need to use specialised quiz software or online learning platforms.
However, if you are an educational or corporate account, you can insert a form in PowerPoint and then share the PowerPoint file via email, OneDrive, Teams or other forms, and the recipient will fill out the form and submit a response without leaving PowerPoint.
You can refer to this link for detailed steps and introduction: Insert a form or quiz into PowerPoint - Microsoft Support
As PPS files are specially designed for showing presentations. When you open a PPS file, it goes directly into full-screen projection mode instead of editing mode. The read-only nature of the projection mode may make it impossible to edit the slides or enter data. Sometimes while we can add some interactivity with hyperlinks and action buttons, these features are primarily used for navigation and not for recording user answers. I sincerely hope you can understand the design nature of the features.
If you are an individual user, we suggest that you either use an online questionnaire tool or have the user fill out the answers in a separate document and then send those documents back to you. This way, you can efficiently collect and record the answers without interrupting the screening of your presentation.
I hope this gives you some clear direction, and if you have any additional questions, feel free to contact us in the community.
Thank you for your understanding and support, and we wish you all the best.
Best regards
