Hello Whitney,
Thank you for your post to the community.
Happy to help get your new computer up and running! Let’s split this into two parts setting up Microsoft Office, and getting Windows configured so you can move forward with confidence.
Setting Up Microsoft Office
- Sign in to your Microsoft account: Go to office.com/setup and sign in with the Microsoft account that holds your Office license.
- Install Office: Once signed in, you’ll see an “Install Office” button. Click it to download and run the installer.
- Complete the Installation:
- Follow the prompts to install Office.
- Once installed, open any Office app (like Word or Excel).
- Sign in again if prompted to activate.
- Update and Personalize:
- Go to File > Account > Update Options > Update Now to make sure you're on the latest version.
- Adjust preferences like theme and auto-save settings under Options.
Setting Up Windows (If You Haven’t Yet)
- Initial Setup Wizard: On first boot, Windows walks you through language, region, and network setup.
- Sign in or Create a Microsoft Account: This helps sync your settings and lets you install Microsoft apps easily later.
- Check for Updates:
- Go to Settings > Windows Update and install any recommended updates.
- Personalize Settings:
- Under Settings > Personalization, you can adjust your background, theme, and more.
- Set up OneDrive if you'd like your files backed up automatically.
