Powerpoint "Zoom to slide" feature stopped working during presenter slideshow in teams meeting

Issue Description:

I'm encountering a problem with the Zoom to Slide feature in PowerPoint during Teams meetings. The issue only occurs when using Presenter View in Microsoft Teams. Here's what's happening:

When the Zoom slide (hidden or not) is clicked, nothing happens.

If the slide is unhidden, it does appear — but without any transition or zoom animation. It behaves like a normal slide switch, not a zoom.

The same presentation works perfectly when I run it locally (outside of Teams).

I’ve tested:

Uploading the presentation to OneDrive and using PowerPoint Live

Sharing by browsing from my computer

Sharing with Presenter View enabled

I'm on Microsoft 365 and Windows 11 Pro. All updates are installed.

This feature is crucial to my presentation flow, and its failure during a live meeting significantly affected the delivery.

Request: Could you advise:

Whether this is a known issue with Zoom transitions in Teams?

If there is a workaround or fix to make Zoom to Slide transitions work properly in Teams presentations?

    Hello,

Welcome to the Microsoft Community Forum. Please accept our warmest regards and sincerest hope that all is well despite the situation you find yourself in.

You're not alone—this issue has been reported by other users as well. It seems that PowerPoint's Zoom to Slide feature does not function properly when presenting in Teams, even though it works fine when running locally.

    Possible Workarounds:

    1. Use Screen Sharing Instead of PowerPoint Live – Instead of using PowerPoint Live, try sharing your screen directly in Teams and running the slideshow from PowerPoint. This has been reported to allow Zoom transitions to work.
    2. Send Feedback to Microsoft – Microsoft is aware of the issue, but submitting feedback through File > Feedback in PowerPoint or Help > Give Feedback in Teams may help escalate the problem.
    3. Check for Public Preview Features – Microsoft has introduced a Magnify Slide feature for PowerPoint Live in Teams, but it may not fully replace Zoom transitions. If you're interested, you can check if your organization allows access to Teams Public Preview.

    Hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Fordy B.
