The designer feature of the PowerPoint is not available for some reason. I have tried the following to fix it, but it is still not available:

  1. Turned on Connected Experiences in the settings
  2. Did the online repair of Microsoft 365 Office apps
  3. Uninstalled and reinstalled my Microsoft 365 Office

The PowerPoint designer settings are still not available. I have the 2024 working license of MS Office, which includes PowerPoint, MS Word and Excel.

What should I do to fix this issue now?

    Hi Sakshi,

Apologies for any inconvenience you are experiencing. I am happy to help you today.

I would like to let you know that Perpetual versions of MS Office, such as Office 2024, don’t include the Designer feature. This feature is only available with the Microsoft 365 subscription, which offers the latest and most comprehensive tools.

I hope you find this information useful. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to reach out. Otherwise, please take a moment to accept the answer. Wishing you good luck!

    Dear Sakshi Sharma,

Thanks for contacting us regarding your PowerPoint's issues on Microsoft Q&A. I am sorry for the situation you have met, and I understand how frustrated it is. No worries! We will work together in order to resolve your case effectively.

At first, I would like to share some details about Microsoft package for you:image

If you’re using Office 2024 with a perpetual license (one-time purchase), even though it includes Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, it does not include Designer. This feature is cloud-powered and tied to a subscription model. If you want access to Designer, you’ll need to switch to a Microsoft 365 subscription.

For your reference: Buy Microsoft Office 2024 | Microsoft 365

In case you have your Microsoft 365 subscription but unable to use it, you could try to clear your cache and cookies, change your regional and language, or else, run some workarounds below:

    1. Reset PowerPoint’s Designer Cache
    • Close PowerPoint.
    • Delete the Designer cache folder:
      • Press Win + R, paste:
            %localappdata%\Microsoft\PowerPoint

      • Delete the Designer folder (if present).
      • Restart PowerPoint.
    1. Enable Designer via Registry (Windows)
    • Press Win + R, type regedit → Navigate to:
        HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\PowerPoint\Options

    • Right-click → New > DWORD (32-bit) Value → Name it EnableDesigner.
    • Double-click it → Set value to 1 → Restart PowerPoint.
    1. Check Group Policy (For Work Devices)
    • If your PC is managed by an organization, Designer may be disabled by IT.
    • Contact your admin to enable:
User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Microsoft PowerPoint 2016 > PowerPoint Designer > Enable PowerPoint Designer

If the issues still persist, you could consider to send your feedback and contact our live-chat support at Microsoft Support.

    1. In PowerPoint, go to Help > Feedback → Report the issue.
    2. Contact Microsoft Support:

Once again, I am sorry for all the situation you have met. Kindly let me know if I could help you anything else.
