When creating a reoccurring meeting using the new Microsoft Education Canvas APP, the meeting the dates keeps scrolling backwards and says the start time.

We were able to create a meeting in the Microsoft Education Canvas APP, then go to the Teams APP or Outlook to change it to a reoccurring meeting.

Looks like this is bug. When will this be fixed?

    Good day @Boyang Wang

Thank you again for your patience and for sharing your feedback regarding the recurring meeting issue in the new Microsoft Education Canvas App.

We understand how important it is to have a seamless experience, especially with the Fall semester approaching. As you've noted, the issue where meeting dates scroll backward and display incorrect start times when creating recurring meetings has been acknowledged by Microsoft. The current recommended workaround is to create the meeting as a one-time event in the Canvas App, then edit it in Microsoft Teams or Outlook to make it recurring.

To stay informed about the release of the fix and other updates, I recommend subscribing to the Microsoft Education Blog on the Microsoft Community Hub. This blog regularly shares product updates, feature enhancements, and webinar announcements that are especially relevant during back-to-school periods.

If you’d like, I can also notify you directly once the fix is officially released.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or if there's anything else I can assist you with.

    Hi @Boyang Wang

Thank you for reaching out and bringing this to our attention.

We understand you're experiencing an issue when creating recurring meetings using the Microsoft Education Canvas App, where the meeting dates scroll backward and display an incorrect start time.

As you've discovered, a temporary workaround is to:

    1. Create the meeting in the Canvas App as a one-time event.
    2. Then edit it in Microsoft Teams or Outlook to make it recurring.

This method bypasses the glitch in the Canvas App interface.

Microsoft has acknowledged the issue and is actively working on resolving it. According to their support documentation:

    • The classic Class Teams LTI and Meetings LTI tools will sunset on September 15, 2025.
    • The new Microsoft 365 LTI is being rolled out to streamline the experience
    • You can find more information about the new Microsoft 365 LTI here: Microsoft 365 LTI for Learning Management Systems

If you're still using the older LTI tools alongside the new ones, this may be contributing to the issue. Microsoft recommends fully transitioning to the new Microsoft 365 LTI setup for improved stability.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this issue.

Please feel free to reach out again if you have any further questions or need additional guidance.

    Best regards,
