Hello!

Can you please advise if the new threaded layout for Teams Channels is going to be available for those with education licences? The roadmap and M365 message all say roll out started in August and expected to complete end of August but it is now approaching the end of September and still we do not have this feature. And there is nothing to suggest this has been delayed.

The Message Center post for MC1088172 explicitly states that no admin action is required and the rollout will happen automatically by the specified dates for all tenants, with no mention of any license-type exclusions, which implies education tenants are included in the rollout. User's image

May I ask: Are you the only one in your tenant who doesn’t see the Threads layout in Teams channels, or is this affecting all users in your organization?

No one has this in our organisation. I have just updated my Teams to the latest version and still has not appeared.

Thank you for your response, and I sincerely apologize for the earlier confusion.

Initially, based on my research through the Microsoft 365 Roadmap and the Message Center post MC1088172, there was no mention of any license-type exclusions, which led me to believe that education tenants would be included in the rollout.

However, after further investigation and reviewing documentation from the Microsoft 365 Adoption portal (an official resource designed to support successful deployment and adoption) I found that this new feature is not supported for student or teacher licenses. This decision appears to be based on internal policies and product strategy choices made by Microsoft and the product development team.

As a forum moderator, I unfortunately do not have the ability to influence or modify these rollout decisions, even though I fully understand how valuable this feature could be for your organization.

@Rin-L Is there a plan for the threads option in channels to be rolled out for education users? If so, when is it planned for?

At the moment, I haven’t been able to find any official announcements or public timelines regarding the rollout of the Threads option in channels for education users. That said, I really appreciate you taking the time to raise this question and share your interest in the feature @Katt.
