Hello Rawson, John
Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A Forum.
I can understand that you want slides to advance (transition) automatically (or be controllable) but the UI setting "On Mouse Click" is absent or disabled so you can't enable it.
Here are some steps that you can follow to restore or find the "On Mouse Click" slide transition option:
- Open the Transitions tab / settings for a slide:
- Go to Transitions tab.
- There should be an Advance Slide section, with checkboxes for "On Mouse Click" and "After (time)" on the top right.
- If "On Mouse Click" is missing or greyed out, check if you have a slide or object preventing it( e.g: Pictures with hyperlink,...)
- Enable "On Mouse Click" and apply to all slides:
- If "On Mouse Click" is visible but unchecked, check it.
- Then click "Apply to All" so that setting applies across all slides.
- Check Slide Show settings / Use Timings:
- Under the Slide Show menu, there is a checkbox "Use Timing" or "Use timings, if present" - make sure this is enabled.
- Inspect for custom shows or special settings interfering:
- Check if a Custom Slide Show is in effect (under the Slide Show menu).
- Confirm that there is no slide-level settings or animations are preventing the click transitions
I hope it helps, please feel free to let me know if you need any further assistance, I'm more than happy to help.
Hope you have a wonderful day.
