Hi,
Thanks for reaching out and explaining what’s going on with your Microsoft Teams. To better understand the situation, could you confirm something for me? Are your personal contacts showing directly inside the Teams desktop app, or are they appearing in Outlook or the People app on your laptop and then syncing into Teams? This will help us figure out whether the issue is coming from Teams itself or from Windows/Outlook sync.
If you don’t use the Teams mobile app and the problem is only on your Windows laptop, those contacts probably came from Windows People/Contacts sync when your phone was connected, Outlook integration with Teams, or possibly a Microsoft account sync if your personal account was linked.
Here’s what I recommend for now:
First, remove any personal contacts from Outlook or the People app on your PC. Teams often pulls contacts from there. Next, check your Windows account settings under Settings → Accounts → Email & accounts and remove any personal accounts like Gmail. Also, go to Settings → Privacy → Contacts and revoke Teams’ access. Then, open Teams on your desktop, go to Settings → Privacy → Manage contacts, and turn off contact sync. Finally, clear the Teams cache by closing Teams, navigating to %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams, deleting the Cache folder, and restarting Teams.
Let me know if this helps or if you need more clarification, I’m happy to help!
Warm regards,
Edward
