    Hello @minhanhle,

    Thank you for responding.

For your concern, you understood correctly. There are no service packages or upgrades that allow an organizer to remotely turn on participants’ microphones in Microsoft Teams.

As I mentioned earlier, this is designed to protect user privacy and security, and Microsoft does not provide any plan or add-on that overrides this behavior.

However, I understand that in an educational environment, you may need better control to manage the quality of your sessions. Therefore, I encourage you to raise this suggestion directly through the through the Microsoft 365 Feedback Hub

    Hello @minhanhle,

Based on your question, I’ve researched this and here’s what I found:

Currently, there is no public API from Microsoft that allows users or developers to retrieve the IP address of participants in Microsoft Teams meetings.

However, administrators can access this information through the Teams Admin Center if available. To check:

    User's image

    • They can select the user and click “View session details,” and then open the Advanced section to view the IP address.

Note: IP address may be partially masked for security reasons.

I hope this information is helpful to you!

    Hello @minhanhle,

Thank you for reaching out to the Q&A forum!

AI assistance provided the correct idea; however, I will clarify it further for you:

It seems you are asking about enabling microphones for participants in a Microsoft Teams meeting. This feature is related to meeting settings and policies, not to purchasing an upgrade.

Microphone control is already available in Microsoft Teams. The organizer can:

1.Allow or disable participants’ microphones in Meeting Options (before or during the meeting).  For example, in Microsoft Teams for Education, teachers often use “Mute all” or “Disable mic for attendees” to manage classroom sessions.

2.Manage this through Meeting Policies in the Teams Admin Center (configured by your IT administrator).

For reference: Manage attendee audio and video permissions in Microsoft Teams meetings

However, the organizer cannot arbitrarily turn on participants’ microphones. Microphone control belongs to the participant to ensure privacy.

The organizer can mute participants or allow them to unmute but cannot unmute them remotely without their consent. Participants must click Unmute themselves. This is part of Microsoft’s privacy and security policy; users always control their own devices.

Once again, thank you again for raising this issue; it’s helped broaden my understanding.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Will the meeting organizer have the right to arbitrarily turn on the microphones of attendees?

To enable participants' microphones in Microsoft Teams, you do not specifically need to purchase an upgrade solely for that feature. All users who join a Teams meeting can have their microphones enabled by the meeting organizer. However, if you are looking for enhanced features and capabilities, you might consider purchasing the Teams Premium add-on license, which provides additional features on top of the standard Teams functionality.

The standard Teams license allows for hosting and attending meetings, which includes the ability for participants to use their microphones. If you require more advanced meeting features, then Teams Premium would be the appropriate upgrade.
