when you go to open edge for the first time of that day it takes 10 to 15 minutes to open home page. After that it responds fine.

If Microsoft Edge is slow to open for the first time each day, there are a few potential reasons and solutions you can consider:

    1. Extensions and Add-ons: Disable any unnecessary browser extensions that might be impacting performance. Sometimes, extensions can slow down the browser's startup time.
    2. Cache Size: Increase the cache size for your temporary internet files. A larger cache can help improve loading times.
    3. Startup Settings: Ensure that Edge is set to open with a blank page or a specific set of pages that load quickly. This can help reduce the time it takes to load the home page.
    4. Hardware Acceleration: Check if hardware acceleration is enabled in Edge settings. Sometimes, toggling this setting can improve performance.
    5. System Performance: Ensure that your system is not overloaded with background processes when you start Edge. A clean boot can help improve overall performance.
    6. Updates: Make sure that both Windows and Microsoft Edge are up to date. Updates often include performance improvements and bug fixes.

If the problem persists, consider checking for any known issues with the specific version of Microsoft Edge you are using, as there may be updates or workarounds available.

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

This usually happens because something is slowing Edge during its initial startup (background services, extensions, or security software). A few things that commonly help:

    • Turn off Startup boost and background apps in Edge settings
    • Temporarily disable extensions to see if one is causing the delay
    • Try opening Edge with a new profile to rule out profile issues
    • Check if third-party antivirus is scanning Edge on first launch
    • Make sure Windows 11 and Edge are fully updated

If it keeps happening, please follow these steps to repair Microsoft Edge:

    • Make sure your browser is closed, and you have administrative rights to your device.
    • Press the Windows + I key to open Settings. > Click on the "Apps" tab.
    • Click on "Installed apps." > Scroll through the app list or use the search bar to locate the Microsoft Edge.
    • Click the three-dots menu (...) next to Microsoft Edge and select "Modify"
    • When prompted to allow changes, select Yes.
    • Now, make sure you're connected to the internet and choose Repair. This process should not affect your browser data and settings.
    • Wait for the process to complete, after that, Edge will open, close it and restart your PC.

Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions or concerns.
