Every time I try to add Specific people to "Who can present," no one's name shows up. I type the full name, nothing, their email, nothing. I contacted my IT, but they said this was a Microsoft Issue. The invite is scheduled and recurring, sent from my email. Not sure how you can help, but would appreciate it.

    Hi @Chloe Mikolasik

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Forum.

Thank you for reaching out regarding the issue that searching users in Microsoft Teams by their display name.

Based on my research, Microsoft has confirmed an ongoing service incident affecting Microsoft Teams (Issue ID: TM1212728). A recent change to our Active Directory service introduced a regression affecting user search functionality. As a result, users attempting to search new users in Microsoft Teams by their display name may be impacted.

This incident is fairly new, and Microsoft is updating about this issue promptly via Service Health. Service availability is steadily improving toward normal levels, in the meantime, I’d suggest searching new users using their email address, since it still works according to the incident report. Just a heads-up: as a forum moderator, my testing environment is limited, and I cannot access to Microsoft’s internal databases to dig into the root cause of this issue.

At this stage, no action is required on your part. Once systems are fully restored, Teams should begin functioning normally again without the need to make changes to your settings or devices. That said, I kindly hope you can remain patient a little longer while the engineering teams continue working hard to fully restore the best possible experience for all users.

Also, since many others in the community may still be unaware of this incident, if you found this information helpful, please mark the answer as “Accept answer”. This will help surface the post to the top so others facing similar issues can easily find it.

Thank you again for being part of the Microsoft Q&A community. If you have any further questions or updates, feel free to reply here. I’ll be happy to assist further.

If you're unable to add specific people to the "Who can present" setting in Microsoft Teams, it could be due to several factors. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

    1. Check Permissions: Ensure that the users you are trying to add are part of your organization and have the necessary permissions to be added as presenters. If they are external users, make sure your meeting settings allow for external participants to be presenters.
    2. Sensitivity Labels: If your meeting has a sensitivity label applied, it might restrict who can be added as presenters. Check if the sensitivity label enforces specific settings that limit presenter options.
    3. Meeting Policy: Verify that your Teams admin policy allows for specific people to be added as presenters. You may need to consult with your IT department to ensure that the meeting policy is configured correctly.
    4. User Search: When typing names or emails, ensure that you are using the correct format and that the users are active in your organization’s directory. Sometimes, autocomplete may not function correctly if the users are not recognized in the system.

If the issue persists after checking these factors, it might be beneficial to reach out to Microsoft support for further assistance, as it could be a bug or a limitation in the current version of Teams you are using.
