Hi Conrad,
This is April, I'll be happy to assist you. Sorry to hear that you're having issue with MS Teams account. Let me help you out.
Based on the description of the issue you provided, your personal Microsoft Teams account is unexpectedly linked to an organization you never joined.
This usually happens when your personal Microsoft account gets linked to an organization after accepting a Teams invitation, even accidentally. If you see a "Request is blocked" error, it's typically due to the organization's conditional access or firewall rules, which prevent guest accounts from signing in.
How to Remove your Personal Microsoft Account from an Organization
- Check your Associated Organizations
- Leave the Unwanted Organization
- Find the organization you don't recognize or want to leave.
- Click Leave organization
- Confirm your choice. Your personal account will no longer be connected to that tenant.
- Clear Cached Credentials
- On Windows go to Settings > Accounts > Access work or school.
- Remove any organization accounts listed there.
- In your browser, clear cookies and cache for teams.microsoft.com and login.microsoftonline.com
- Sign in Again
- Go to Microsoft Teams
- Sign in with your personal account.
- You should now only see your personal Teams (free) environment
If no organizations appear in your list, your account might have been added as a guest and later disabled. In this case, only the organization's admin can remove your account from their Azure AD tenant.
A "request blocked" error cannot be resolved on your end if the organization's policies are still enforced. Leaving the organization is the most effective way to fix this issue.
I hope this helps. If you need further assistance you can reply to this message.
Thank you,
April P.
