I just saw a "news" story that said the Microsoft is retiring Collections on edge. Can't see any sign of that on any Microsoft site. Apparently per the story, it is being discussed on X, which I do not use.

I use collections ALL the time. Way better than bookmarking because easy to see what the saved item is about I hope this isn't true.

Anyone know anythings?

Unfortunately, Collections are being retired in Edge. Notifications are now popping up when trying to use Collections.
For Personal users, one can still add and manage collections.
For work/school users, no new items can be added to collections, but they can be converted (one-click) to Favorites, or exported.

I also use Collections ALL the time, rather than Favorites.
Not quite sure what led to this.

The problem now is that there is no real way for MSA (personal account) users to export Collections or to "move-to-Favorites-in-one-click" - both options (export to Excel, or move to Favorites with one click) are not available for personal (MSA) users, but only for work/school accounts.

The only option for personal users is https://www.bing.com/saves - where Collections are still being saved - but that bing/saves does not offer any way of migrating Collections to Favorites or to export them.

Are there any plans to provide that simple function of "one-click-move-to-Favorites" to personal users?
If not, why is that simple option not available to personal users (we are also paying users, either for Windows OS or for MS365)?

And then, what options do we have to export Collections and/or transfer Collections to Favorites?
(Of course, we could do individual URLs or move all open tabs to favorites, but if many collections, then it is extremely slow and manually exhaustive process.)

For a comparison, Google uses their "Collections" (now refered to as "Saved") as themed groups containing cross-usable (between apps and devices) links/URLs, images, places.

Any ideas or should we have to raise individual support requests to Microsoft?

There hasn’t been any official announcement about this, but Microsoft does occasionally remove features quietly through updates. In this case, it may not be entirely silent since user data is involved, but it’s possible that the prompt will start appearing sooner or later in future updates if they really plan to discontinue it.

I did not "accept" the AI "answer" to this because saying there are no "official" plans to retire Collections doesn't mean Microsoft isn't thinking about it. Does anyone actually KNOW?
