Thank you for contacting us. I’d like to provide you with the following information.
I understand that you previously cleared the credentials; however, the issue has not yet been resolved.
At this point, please follow all of the steps listed below completely to fully remove all sign-in information from your device (including both your account and your daughter’s account). After that, please sign in again only with your Business account to prevent the issue from recurring.
I understand that you may feel hesitant about being asked to repeat steps you have already tried. However, I will be including some additional necessary steps this time, so I kindly ask that you follow them in the correct order before signing in again with your account.
First: Sign out of all Teams accounts
Step 1: Click on your profile picture (avatar).
Step 2: Select Sign out for each existing account.
Next: Clear the Teams cache (both Teams web and Teams app)
Clear cache for Teams web
Step 1: Open your browser and press Ctrl + Shift + Delete.
Step 2: Click Clear now (or Clear data).
Clear cache for Teams app (New Teams)
Step 1: Fully close Teams
- Select the Teams icon in the system tray (bottom-right of the taskbar)
- Choose Quit
- Make sure there are no Teams processes running in Task Manager
Step 2: Open the New Teams cache folder
- Press Windows + R
- Paste the following path and press Enter: %LocalAppData%\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Microsoft\MSTeams
Step 3: Delete the cache
- Select all files and folders inside
- Press Delete
Next: Check accounts in Access work or school
Go to Settings > Accounts > Access work or school.
Please check whether you see a school account listed under Access work or school.
- If yes, select that account and click Disconnect.
- Then click Connect and sign in again using your Business account to re‑register the device.
Clear cached credentials
- Open Control Panel
- Select User Accounts → Credential Manager
In both Windows Credentials and Generic Credentials:
- Locate entries related to Microsoft 365 accounts
- Select and Remove these entries
Then:
- Restart the computer
- Try adding the account back into Office again
Clean Office activation state
This tool:
- Removes licenses
- Clears cached identities from the HKCU registry
- Removes stored credentials

Finally:
- Restart the device
- Reopen the Office apps and sign in using the correct account
