Dear @Lynda Whiley,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum. I understand you want to cancel your Microsoft Teams account and have not received a response yet.
Could you please confirm that Are you using a personal Microsoft account (e.g., @outlook.com / @hotmail.com), or is it a work/school account provided by an organization (e.g., @company.com @school)?
If you are using Work or school accounts
It cannot be cancelled by yourself. They are managed by the organization’s IT department, and only the organization can delete or deactivate them.
If you are using personal Microsoft accounts
I would like to clarify that Teams cannot be cancelled on its own because it is part of your Microsoft account. To stop using Teams, you would need to close your entire Microsoft account, which will also remove access to all connected services such as Outlook, OneDrive, and Microsoft 365. If you would like to proceed, you can close your account here by follow the step below: How to close your Microsoft account. If your goal is only to stop using Teams without closing your whole Microsoft account, you can simply uninstall the app and sign out.
Please understand that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.
I truly appreciate your patience and understanding. If you have any further questions or need further clarification, please feel free to reach out. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you for your cooperation.
