    Hi @G Sai

I understand how confusing and frustrating this can be, especially when you’ve already taken the right steps in the admin center to block Teams Premium trials and purchases.

At the moment, the “Unlock Premium” pop‑up you’re seeing in the Teams app is part of Teams’ built‑in user interface and product discovery experience. Even when self‑service trials and purchases are set to “Do not allow”, this UI element can still appear. Unfortunately, there isn’t an admin setting available today to fully hide or remove this prompt from the Teams client.

While users may still see the Unlock Premium option, they cannot start a trial or purchase Teams Premium, and no Premium features will be activated unless a valid license is explicitly assigned by an admin.

If this UI behavior is creating confusion or frustration, as Microsoft user I highly suggest sharing feedback via the Ideas · Community platform. This allows others to see and upvote your suggestion and helps our product development team better understand user needs and prioritize improvements. The more voices they hear, the greater the chance we’ll see enhancements in future updates.

Or you can share it directly from the Teams app (...)> Give feedback

The “Unlock Premium” entry in the Teams client is part of the built‑in Teams Premium discovery and trial experience. It’s shown by the service when the tenant is eligible for Teams Premium trials and there’s at least one valid Teams license in the tenant.

Disabling self‑service trials and purchases in admin settings prevents users from starting or buying their own Teams Premium trial or subscription, but it doesn’t remove the in‑product discovery surface itself. That UI element can’t be hidden or removed through current Teams or Microsoft 365 admin controls.

To limit actual Premium usage rather than the visual prompt:

    1. Ensure no users have active Teams Premium trial or paid licenses assigned.
    2. If users previously had trial licenses, verify that they have expired (trials are valid for 30 days from purchase for admin trials and 60 days for self‑service trials). After expiry, Premium features stop working unless paid licenses are purchased.
    3. Use the Teams Premium dashboard in the Teams admin center to review and manage any existing Teams Premium licenses and feature usage.

The “Unlock Premium” button may continue to appear as part of the product’s built‑in promotion, but without active Premium licenses or trials, users won’t be able to use Premium features.
