Multiple users seem to have the problem that their file time stamp seems to show pacific time the normal standard setting wich I checked and is put on the correct timezone.

Now I have tried checking multiple stuff like:

1)Their personal microsoft365 timezone settings

2)Their pc timezone settings

3The sharepoint timezone setting

4)The exchange timezone setting

Anyone has any idea why this happens?

    Hi Mabesoone, N. (Nico),

I understand that file timestamps in Microsoft Teams are not matching the users’ time zone. The checks you’ve already performed are absolutely valid. In addition, you may try the following:

    1/ Check user’s regional settings

For files stored in SharePoint or OneDrive, the timestamp display can depend on the user’s regional settings. Please ask affected users to:

    • Open a file in Teams > click “Open in SharePoint”
    • Go to Settings > Site settings
    • Select Language and Region
    • Verify the Time Zone
    • If the time zone is incorrect, please update it to the correct one. You may also try switching to a different time zone and then back to the correct one, and allow some time for the change to take effect.
    • Alternatively, they can access it directly via: https://<yourtenant>-my.sharepoint.com/_layouts/15/regionalsetng.aspx

    User's image

After updating, please refresh Teams, or reopen the Files tab to check

    2/ Clear the Teams cache

If the issue only occurs in the desktop app, clearing the cache can help. Please follow the official guidance from Microsoft: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/microsoftteams/teams-administration/clear-teams-cache

3/ Test with a new file

To determine whether the issue is related to existing file metadata or current display behavior, you can:

    • Upload a new file
    • Modify it
    • Check the timestamp in Teams

I hope the information above is helpful. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out.
