Deleting folders on sharepoint site

I have a teams channel that is connected to a sharepoint site. I have another sharepoint site (same name) that has different folders in it that i need to clean up. i am trying to delete empty folders and archive others. There is no delete option on this 2nd sharepoint site for the folders. AI says that the site must be deleted from the channel in order for the delete option to show up. However, the sharepoint site that is connected to our Teams channel is a different sharepoint site (with different folders) and i'm not sure what will happen if i delete the site from the Teams channel, nor do i know how to reconnect it. The sharepoint site I am trying to clean up has the icon that when i hover over it says "go to the Microsoft Teams channel". Can you help direct me as to how to get the option to delete files and folders from the 2nd sharepoint site?
