Missing / removed feature: adding Whiteboard component in Loop

Hello,

I would like to ask about a feature related to Microsoft Loop and Microsoft Whiteboard.

Previously, it seemed possible to add or use Whiteboard component directly within Loop (as a native component or integration). However, I can no longer find this option, and it appears that the functionality may have been removed or limited.

Here is a video of it: https://youtu.be/CnHjbutg068?si=UkdQPH1hvt8R5ejz

My questions:

  • Has this feature been removed, restricted, or moved?
  • Is this behavior expected (e.g., due to account type, rollout channel, or region)?
  • Are there any plans to restore or expand this integration in the future?

This feature is very useful for collaborative workflows, so any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

    Dear @Maria Stachura,

    I hope you’re having a good day.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share this and for providing the video as well, I truly appreciate the level of detail.

Based on my own research and hands‑on testing in my environment, I can confirm that Microsoft Loop currently does not offer an option to add Microsoft Whiteboard as a native component inside a Loop page. At the moment, there is no built‑in way to insert or embed a Whiteboard directly within Loop.

Regarding the video you shared, it is very likely showing an early preview or experimental experience rather than a feature that was officially released. One indicator of this is no corresponding documentation or announcement confirming this functionality as a generally available feature.

As of now, the officially supported integration only works in the opposite direction, meaning Loop components can be created or used inside Whiteboard, but Whiteboard itself cannot be added as a Loop component.
You can refer to this article: Loop components in Whiteboard

At this time, there has also been no official confirmation from Microsoft that this capability will be restored or expanded in the near future.

As a forum moderator, I don’t have the ability to participate in internal product discussions or submit feature requests directly on behalf of users. That said, I completely agree with you, being able to add Whiteboard directly into Loop would be extremely valuable for collaborative workflows. In fact, my own day‑to‑day work relies heavily on Loop, and having native Whiteboard support there would be beneficial for many scenarios and for many users.

Because of this, I strongly recommend sharing your feedback directly with Microsoft through the Loop.

Submitting feedback via the Feedback portal is the effective way to influence future development, and the more similar requests Microsoft receives, the more visibility and priority the idea may gain.

If you decide to submit feedback, feel free to share the link here, I would be more than happy to support it, and I believe many others in the community share the same need.

Thank you again for raising this thoughtful and well‑explained question.

    Warm regards,
