my bluetooth not working

Open Device Manager, locate Bluetooth driver, try updating it to latest version.

Try these steps in order on the Windows 8/8.1 PC.

1. Remove and re-add the Bluetooth device
   1. Select Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.
   2. Under Audio, Mouse, keyboard, & pen, or Other devices, select the Bluetooth device that will not connect.
   3. Select Remove device.
   4. Select Add Bluetooth or other device.
   5. Choose Bluetooth, then select the device again when it appears and complete pairing.
2. Check the Bluetooth device battery and pairing mode
   1. Fully charge the headphones, mouse, keyboard, or phone.
   2. Turn the device off and back on.
   3. Put it into pairing mode (often by holding the power or Bluetooth button until a light flashes).
   4. Try pairing again from Bluetooth & other devices.
3. Restart Bluetooth on the PC
   1. Go to Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.
   2. Turn Bluetooth off and wait about 10 seconds.
   3. Turn Bluetooth on again.
   4. Try to pair the device.
4. Install Windows updates (important for Windows 8.1 Bluetooth fixes)
   1. Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
   2. Select Check for updates and install all available updates.
   3. Restart the PC when prompted and test Bluetooth again.
5. If Bluetooth icon is missing but adapter shows in Device Manager
   1. Open Device Manager.
   2. Expand Bluetooth.
   3. Right-click the Bluetooth adapter and select Uninstall device.
   4. Shut down the PC completely, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on so Windows reinstalls the driver automatically.
   5. If it does not reinstall, in Device Manager select Action > Scan for hardware changes.

If the PC is specifically on Windows 8.1/RT 8.1 and devices still cannot reconnect or show errors when connecting, make sure all Windows Update rollups and Bluetooth-related optional updates are installed, as there are known Bluetooth fixes delivered through those updates.
