Everytime I start my computer whether is a start up from a shut down, a start up after an installation of software Edge browser starts up.

I don't want Edge starting up. I don't even want Edge to be my default computer search.

What and how can I stop the program from launching unless I initiate it myself?

Microsoft Edge | Open the browser | Windows 11

    Hi, good day!

When was the last time it worked properly?

Have you made any changes to your computer recently?

Please try the following methods below.

    1. Press Windows Key + R to open Run then type:

    shell:startup

Press Enter. If there's Edge in the folder, kindly remove it.

    1. Open Task manager then select Startup tab

Search for Microsoft Edge, right click it and hit Disable

I look forward to your update and am happy to continue working with you until the issue is resolved. If you find the answer helpful, please click "Accept Answer" and consider upvoting it. Otherwise, please keep me posted by clicking "Add comments" below instead of selecting Yes or No.

I went through my settings and under account/under sign in option/Automatically save my restartable apps and restart them when I sign back was already turned off. Edge continues to start up once I log in or restart my computer.
