Custom file handlers in Sharepoint Online

We have developed and configured a custom filehandler in our tenant. Until last week the handler related icon and menu items were correctly visible in Sharepoint document libraries but now these are missing.

We have not made any changes to the app registration that defined filehandler actions and also the azure web app that is storing icon images and providing business logic is running.

Anyone else facing same issues?

Could it be related to Sharepoint add-in's development model being deprecated in Sharepoint Online?

Microsoft did not state that this would affect filehandler's but it is the closest change.

When I open below URL there are no entries anymore for our custom file type. Only PowerBI and AutoCAD configurations are shown

    Dear @Ragnar, @Manuel and @Attila Balazsy,

I found this article might help: Reload OneDrive File Handlers - OneDrive dev center | Microsoft Learn

You can also consider using Tenant Admin Reset in case the issue persists:

A user confirmed this force reset helped the file handler reappeared, please give it a try as well.

    Hi @Ragnar

First, I really apologize for this inconvenience has caused to your workflow.

After doing some research, I have noticed some users who are facing the same situation as yours.

Since this issue is affecting multiple tenants, my recommendation is to report this directly to Microsoft by creating a support ticket via Admin Center. Escalating this directly to the backend support team will allow them to collect the necessary logs from your tenant and investigate this behavior further.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
