When scrolling on my laptop using the trackpad (haven't tried with mouse), it is very delayed and limits usability. Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks

Open the Settings app and go to the Mouse settings.

If there is any sensitivity setting available there for your touchpad, try adjusting the sensitivity on your touchpad to test if that resolves the problem.

    2

If that does not resolve the problem, the best option is to go to the support page for your laptop on the Lenovo website, then from there, download and reinstall the version of touchpad drivers they provide.

If you have any difficulty locating that support page, click your Start Button, then just type msinfo and press Enter, please provide a screenshot of the resulting System Information window.

Scrolling delay across Windows 11 on this Lenovo can be caused by mouse/touchpad settings, device firmware/drivers, or known scrolling bugs. Based on the available information, these steps are supported:

    1. Adjust scroll behavior
      • Open Start > Settings > Devices > Mouse.
      • Change the number of lines to scroll at a time and test different values.
      • If using a Microsoft mouse, install and configure the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center to further customize scrolling behavior. See the Mouse and Keyboard Center download link in the referenced article.
    2. Check for system and driver updates
      • Go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and install all available updates. This ensures the latest input and touchpad fixes are applied.
      • If this is a Surface-branded mouse/keyboard, also ensure firmware and accessory updates are installed as described in the Surface mouse/keyboard troubleshooting article.
    3. Verify mouse responsiveness and pointer settings
      • If the cursor or scrolling feels slow or inconsistent:
        1. Close all open apps and test scrolling again.
        2. For Bluetooth devices, check battery level under Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices; for wireless dongles, replace batteries.
        3. Restart the PC to refresh drivers.
        4. Open Start > Settings > Devices > Mouse > Additional mouse options > Pointer Options and adjust pointer speed.
    4. Address known scrolling bugs (if applicable)
      • If the delay or jumpiness only appears in specific apps (for example, Outlook 2016 or certain Windows 8.1-era apps running in compatibility mode), install the relevant updates or apply the documented workarounds:
        • For Outlook 2016 scrolling that jumps or misfocuses, update Office 2016 to a build where the issue is fixed, or apply the registry-based workaround described in the Outlook 2016 scrolling article.
        • For legacy Windows 8.1/Server 2012 R2 apps using XAML controls where the scrollbar jumps back when selecting text after scrolling, install update 2919355 as documented.

If, after updating Windows, adjusting mouse settings, and confirming batteries/drivers, scrolling is still delayed across all apps, contact Lenovo support to check for device-specific touchpad/firmware updates, as those are not covered in the provided material.
