My Microsoft Apps have stopped working on my Samsung Ultra S25

I have Samsung S25 ultra and this week my microsoft apps stopped working. I noticed it first on my outlook emails - they weren't updating and then they disappeared just a black page no messages. My Teams app didn't allow me to make a teams meeting on Wednesday either, it just had the spinning circle trying to connect so had to switch to my laptop. Everything is working fine on my PC and laptop its just my phone that Microsoft has stopped working on. I'm not aware of any updates on my phone this week but I do see that there are a lot of other people having the same issue this week and wondered if you could advise how we fix this please? Many thanks

Angela

This issue was due to a WebView regression from the Samsung April 2026 security update. It can be resolved by following these steps:

    1. Settings -> Search for "Android System Webview" -> App Details In Store -> Remove Updates
    2. Reboot
    3. Settings -> Search for "Android System Webview" -> App Details In Store -> Update
      • Note: If "Android System Webview" doesn't appear in the app list, go to:
Settings -> Google -> All services -> System Services -> Select "Android System Webview"
    4. Reboot
    5. Launch Teams/Outlook & log in.

    Hi @Angela Dow

I completely understand how frustrating it is when essential apps suddenly stop working, especially when you rely on them for daily emails and meetings!

From what you have shared, I understand that your Microsoft apps, specifically Outlook and Teams have stopped functioning on your Samsung S25 Ultra this week. Outlook is displaying a blank black screen, and Teams is stuck on a connecting loop, while everything continues to work perfectly fine on your PC and laptop.

Have you had a chance to try the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the previous replies on this thread?

If those did not resolve the issue, could you please provide a few more details to help us investigate further?

-App Versions: What are the exact version numbers of the Outlook and Teams apps currently installed on your device?

-Android Version: Which specific Android version is your phone running right now?

Additionally, a few other users facing this exact same issue this week have reported that simply rebooting the phone has acted as a successful workaround. Please give that a quick try and let me know if it brings your apps back to life!

Looking forward to your update so we can get this sorted out.

For this scenario where Outlook and Teams have stopped working only on a Samsung Android phone while everything works on PC and laptop, the supported steps are:

    1. Uninstall the affected Microsoft apps (Outlook and Teams) from the Samsung S25 Ultra.
    2. Restart the phone.
    3. Reinstall Outlook and Teams from the Google Play Store or Samsung Galaxy Store.
    4. Open each app and sign in again with the Microsoft 365 account.

This approach matches the recommended resolution for similar mobile sign-in or app issues where an "unexpected error" occurs on Samsung devices.

If the issue persists after reinstalling, contact the organization’s Microsoft 365 admin or technical support, as advised for Microsoft 365 work or school accounts, or contact Microsoft support for Outlook.com-type accounts.

Microsoft Authenticator app updated today from the Google Play Store and the update appears to have fixed the issue on my device (S25Ultra). I am now able to open/use Authenticator, Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, etc. that were not working for the past week.
