Follow these steps on Windows 10 to get Microsoft Edge working again and reach support if needed:

    1. Check network and VPN
      • Make sure the device is online and pages open in another browser.
      • If using a VPN and seeing errors (like 403) when trying to download or update Edge, temporarily disconnect the VPN and try again.
    2. Run the Program Compatibility Troubleshooter for Edge
      1. Select Start > Settings > Update & Security.
      2. Select Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
      3. Under Find and fix other problems, select Program Compatibility Troubleshooter.
      4. Select Run the troubleshooter and follow the on‑screen steps, pointing it at Microsoft Edge if prompted.
    3. Clear the Edge update cache
      • Close all Edge windows.
      • In File Explorer, go to:
        C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge\Update\
      • Delete the contents of this Update folder.
      • Try starting Edge again.
    4. Check for Windows Updates
      1. Select Start > Settings > Update & Security.
      2. Select Windows Update > Check for updates.
      3. Install all available updates and restart the PC, then try Edge again.
    5. Repair Microsoft Edge
      1. Make sure Edge is closed for all users.
      2. Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
      3. Find Microsoft Edge, select it, then choose Modify.
      4. When prompted, select Yes, ensure the device is online, then select Repair.
      5. After repair completes, try opening Edge again.
    6. Reinstall Microsoft Edge (if it still will not open)
      1. Open any working browser on the PC.
      2. Go to https://www.microsoft.com/edge and download the latest Edge installer.
      3. Run the installer to reinstall Edge on top of the existing installation.
    7. If Edge still cannot be accessed
      • Restart the PC: Start > Power > Restart, then try Edge again.
      • If the problem persists and direct support is needed, use the Get Help app in Windows to reach a support agent (search for Get Help from Start, then follow prompts to contact support or request a call back).
