You keep sending me answers to my questions and when I open Answer, it says Content has been deleted due to Code of Conduct.

What is happening here?

I called earlier and spent a lot of time trying to understand the rep because she could not tell me what was wrong in our screen share session and I asked for someone else and she disconnected me and has not called back.

What am I suppose to do to get an answer?

Thank you.

Deleted messages and answers on Microsoft Q&A are usually caused by one of two things:

    1. Automatic spam / code of conduct filters
Q&A uses automated systems to detect spam or content that might violate the Q&A code of conduct. These systems can sometimes make false positives and delete or hide perfectly valid questions, answers, or comments. Several users have reported that their posts were automatically deleted and later restored when a moderator checked them.
    2. Moderator actions based on reports
Moderators can delete questions, answers, or comments that they believe violate the code of conduct. When this happens, the UI shows a message like “This comment has been deleted due to a violation of our Code of Conduct. The comment was manually reported or identified through automated detection before action was taken. Please refer to our Code of Conduct for more information.”

    On Q&A specifically:

    • Only moderators can delete content; users cannot delete their own questions or answers. If content is deleted, non‑moderators generally just see that it was removed and not the details.
    • False positives do occur. In multiple cases, moderators confirmed that questions or comments were deleted “by mistake by the spam filter” and then undeleted them.
    • If a question or answer keeps disappearing, it is likely being caught by this automatic system rather than anything being intentionally done to the account.

To move forward and get an answer:

    1. Ask moderators to review and restore the post
      • Post a new question in the Community Center (as other users were advised) explaining that posts are being deleted and include a link to one of the affected questions if possible. Moderators can then check the moderation logs and restore content that was incorrectly flagged.
    2. Report own content instead of trying to delete it
      • Since users cannot delete their own content, if something was posted that should be removed or is being repeatedly flagged, use the report mechanism so a moderator can review and take appropriate action.
    3. Check for code of conduct triggers
      • Avoid including personal data (case numbers, phone numbers, email addresses, etc.) or anything that might look like spam or advertising, as these can increase the chance of automatic deletion.

If support calls are being disconnected or not resolved, Q&A moderators are the right channel for issues specifically about posts being deleted on the Q&A site itself, as they can see and reverse mistaken deletions.
