Critical Issues with Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Outlook on Android 16 (Login Failure, Infinite Loop, App Crashes)

God, it is already 11 PM and my Microsoft Teams application has stopped working. It is completely unable to send messages, and after signing out, I cannot sign back inthe app only displays a blank page with an infinite loading loop.

Meanwhile, Microsoft Outlook keeps crashing repeatedly, especially while I am composing emails and I donno whether Ondrive will be affected.

Are there known issues between Microsoft applications and Android 16, possibly related to the security update released earlier this April? I would appreciate it if either Google or Microsoft could investigate and provide a fix as soon as possible.

Please Im begging both of you

    Hi Calvin Zolovoski

I found an update relevant to your situation. You may try the following troubleshooting steps to see if they help resolve the issue:

    • Restart your devices (power it off and then back on, rather than performing a reset)
    • Clear the cache for both the Outlook and Teams apps

If the issue still persists, you must try uninstalling the Android System WebView app by following the below instructions

    1. Settings -> Search for "Android System WebView" -> App Details in Store -> Remove Updates
    2. Reboot
    3. Settings -> Search for "Android System WebView" -> App Details in Store -> Update

Note: If "Android System WebView" doesn't appear in the app list, go to: Settings -> Google -> All services -> System Services -> Select "Android System WebView", then:

    1. Reboot
    2. Launch Teams/Outlook & log in.

    Hi Calvin Zolovoski

At present, based on what I’ve found, I have seen a several users who are in the same situation as yours. However, I have not found any official documents addressing this unexpected issue. I hope you can understand that as moderators I do not have direct access to system-level diagnostics.

In this situation, I recommend contacting your IT administrator and asking them to open a support ticket with Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn on your behalf so the matter can be escalated and investigated further.

I hope this information helps, if you have further questions, please feel free to let me know.
