An Azure service that enables managed service providers, independent software vendors, and enterprise IT teams to deliver turnkey solutions through the Azure Marketplace or service catalog.
Hello Viktor, deleting an Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) user account doesn’t automatically cancel or stop billing on any recurring Marketplace purchases tied to your tenant’s billing profile. Marketplace subscriptions live at the tenant (or billing account) level—not on the individual user principal—so removing the user only cuts off their sign-in; the subscription and associated charges carry on until you explicitly cancel them.
Here’s what you can do to stop the billing/license:
- In Partner Center (or Azure Portal) go to Marketplace > “Manage subscriptions”
- Locate the recurring Marketplace subscription you want to cancel
- Select “Cancel subscription” (or “Remove offers from existing customers”)
- Confirm the cancellation—this will end future charges
If instead you simply unassign the license from a user in Microsoft 365 Admin Center, that frees up the seat but does not cancel the underlying subscription.
Hope that helps! Let me know if you need any more details.
