Hi there, Thanks for posting here in Microsoft Community.
Please note: That upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10 will NOT delete your Facebook or Instagram accounts. As long as you remember login credentials your Facebook or Instagram should be fine. But just to be sure back up your files first. Also, make sure your PC meets Windows 10 requirements (most systems that ran Windows 7 reasonably well can handle Windows 10).
The safest way to move from Windows 7 to Windows 10 is to use Microsoft’s official Media Creation Tool. The old free upgrade trick doesn’t reliably work anymore, so in most cases, you’ll need to buy a Windows 10 product key to activate it after the upgrade.
Here's how to upgrade your Windows 7 to Windows 10:
- Download the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft’s website while you’re still on Windows 7.
- Run the tool and choose 'Upgrade this PC now.'
- When asked, select 'Keep personal files and apps' so your data stays put.
- If prompted, enter your Windows 10 product key, or finish the upgrade and activate later in Settings > Update & Security > Activation.
Once you've done that. You’ll be on Windows 10 once the upgrade finishes.
