Dear @JANDOLI, JONATHAN D,
Good day, and I appreciate the clear explanation of your concern. As a forum moderator, I genuinely wish I could directly access your account or delve into the backend systems to diagnose and fix this for you. However, our role here is limited to providing general guidance and solutions that can be applied by users.
I attempted to reproduce the issue in my test environment and found that Cameo in PowerPoint Live works as expected when used in a Microsoft Teams meeting. That said, I did find reports from other users, particularly following recent updates to Teams or PowerPoint indicating similar behavior. Although Cameo should automatically activate when sharing via PowerPoint Live, it can sometimes fail due to cache issues, permissions, or the method used to share content.
Please try the following quick fixes to see if they help:
1.Restart everything (Resolves the issue for many users)
- Close the Teams meeting completely.
- Fully close Teams and PowerPoint (use Task Manager > End task on both if needed).
- Restart your computer.
- Rejoin the meeting and try sharing again with PowerPoint Live.
2.Make sure you're using PowerPoint Live correctly
- In the Teams meeting, click Share > PowerPoint Live (not "Share screen" or "Window").
- Select your presentation from the list of recently opened files or Browse for it.
- PowerPoint Live should automatically detect the Cameo placeholder and display your camera feed on the slides.
3.Check camera permissions
- In Teams, go to … (three dots) > Settings > Devices and confirm your camera is selected and working (test it in a regular video call first).
- In Windows/macOS: Go to Privacy & Security > Camera > ensure Microsoft Teams and Microsoft PowerPoint both have permission.
4.Re-insert the Cameo in PowerPoint (Often Fixes Detection Issues)
- Open the presentation in the PowerPoint desktop app (not in Teams).
- Go to the slide with Cameo > delete the existing Cameo placeholder.
- Go to Insert tab > Cameo > insert a new one and position it where you want.
- Save the file.
- Re-share using PowerPoint Live in the Teams meeting.
I hope this information is helpful. Please follow these steps and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can work together to resolve this. Thank you for your patience and understanding. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to share them in the comments so I can continue to support you. I'm looking forward to your reply.
