    Hi Bogg, Ashley G

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum and apologize for the inconvenience

I have recently received information of unexpected behavior affecting Outlook and Teams on Android devices. However, to assist you more effectively, could you please provide the following information:

    • Which version of Android are you currently using?
    • Are your Outlook and Teams applications fully updated?

In the meantime, you may try the following troubleshooting steps to see if they help resolve the issue:

    • Restart your phone (power it off and then back on, rather than performing a reset)
    • Clear the cache for both the Outlook and Teams apps

If the issue still persists, you must try uninstalling the Android System WebView app by following the below instructions

    1. Settings -> Search for "Android System Webview" -> App Details In Store -> Remove Updates
    2. Reboot
    3. Settings -> Search for "Android System Webview" -> App Details In Store -> Update

Note: If "Android System Webview" doesn't appear in the app list, go to: Settings -> Google -> All services -> System Services -> Select "Android System Webview", then:

    1. Reboot
    2. Launch Teams/Outlook & log in.

    This worked for me:

    • Clear WebView and Chrome Data: Go to Settings > Apps > Android System WebView > Storage > Clear Cache & Data. Repeat for the Chrome app, then restart your phone.

Follow these steps to get Outlook and Teams working again on the phone:

    1. Confirm the phone meets app requirements and has space
      • Make sure the device meets the minimum requirements for Outlook and has enough free storage to install and run the app.
      • Verify there is a stable Wi‑Fi or mobile data connection; both apps need internet to sign in and sync.
    2. Fully remove and reinstall Outlook and Teams
      • Uninstall both Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Teams from the phone.
      • Restart the phone.
      • Reinstall Outlook and Teams from the official app store for the device.
      • This approach has resolved similar mobile sign‑in and startup issues where Outlook and Teams both failed on a Samsung phone.
    3. If Outlook still will not open or respond
      • For Outlook mobile specifically, if it crashes or hangs when opening, clear the app data/cache (if available in the phone settings), then uninstall and reinstall again.
      • Ensure the device has a working browser and clear the browser cache as well, then try opening Outlook again.
    4. If Outlook or Teams still cannot sign in or sync
      • If using a Microsoft 365 work or school account, contact the organization’s Microsoft 365 admin or technical support. There may be policies or issues with the account or device that block sign‑in or syncing.
      • If using an Outlook.com account (for example, @hotmail.com or @live.com), contact Microsoft support for further help.
    5. If the issue is only with email setup
      • Use the mobile setup guidance for the device type (Android, iOS, or Windows Phone) from the Office mobile setup articles, then follow the “Troubleshoot email setup on mobile” guidance if setup fails.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, escalate through the Microsoft 365 admin (for business accounts) or Microsoft support (for personal Outlook.com accounts) with details of the device model, OS version, and any error messages.
