Using a List in Q&A

Help shows example:

  • Bullet 1
  • Bullet 2 how do I define Bullet 2 as the last item in the list? The Help example shows it as above and then shows "Bullet end (fin)", but it doesn't explain "Bullet end (fin)".
I entered this line as <SHIFT>ENTER, thinking it might end the bulleted list, but that just adds it to the paragraph instead of as another bulleted line

In Word, the last item in a bulleted list is defined simply by ending the list, not by marking a specific bullet as “last.” The “Bullet end (fin)” text in the Help example is just explanatory text, not a Word feature.

To end the bulleted list after “Bullet 2” and continue with normal text:

    1. Type Bullet 1, press Enter.
    2. Type Bullet 2, press Enter.
    3. Press Enter again on the empty bulleted line. Word ends the list and moves the cursor to a normal (non‑bulleted) paragraph.

    If starting from existing text:

    1. Select the lines to be bullets.
    2. On the Home tab, in Paragraph, select Bullets. Each line becomes a bullet.
    3. Press Enter twice after the last bullet to end the list.

Shift+Enter inserts a line break inside the same bullet, so it will not end the list.

Since you seem to be asking how to do this here in Q&A and not in Word as the AI assumes: After typing the text for #2, press Enter. You will get #3, but just press the Numbering button again to turn it off.

    1. This is the first bullet point
    2. This is the second.

This is a new paragraph that was numbered 3 until I turned numbering off.
