Ongoing Critical Issues with Microsoft Teams Mobile App (mar 2026, android)

Hello,

I am writing to report a persistent and increasingly serious issue with the Microsoft Teams mobile app.

For over a year, I have experienced a steady decline in the app’s quality and usability, to the point where it is now almost unusable. Messages frequently stop updating, notifications are not delivered, and at times I am unable even to send messages.

This issue has occurred with almost every app update. Each time, I have had to go through multiple troubleshooting steps to temporarily restore functionality, including:

  • clearing the cache
  • clearing app data and cache
  • removing and re-adding accounts
  • uninstalling and reinstalling the app

Often, this process must be repeated multiple times due to lag, app freezes, or unsuccessful attempts.

Initially, these steps provided only temporary relief, but over time they have become completely ineffective. With the most recent update in March 2026, none of these actions resolve the issue anymore.

This situation is extremely frustrating and results in a significant waste of time—especially considering that this app is intended to support productivity.

I have also noticed that many other users are reporting similar problems in Google Play Store reviews, so this does not appear to be an isolated case.

I would appreciate a prompt and concrete resolution to this issue. thank you

Kind regards,

Roberto

    Hi @Roberto Fioravanti

Thank you for posting your concern in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand how frustrating this experience must be, especially when Microsoft Teams is a critical productivity tool and the issues have persisted for such a long time. Based on your description, you have already performed nearly all standard troubleshooting steps.

At this time, there is no official Microsoft announcement or published service advisory confirming a known widespread outage or defect specific to the Microsoft Teams mobile app. However, as you mentioned and as reflected in Google Play Store reviews other users are reporting similar behavior.

Because this appears to be a product quality and stability issue, the most effective next step is to submit detailed feedback directly to Microsoft. This ensures the Teams product engineering team can review impact, logs, and user reports to prioritize investigation and potential fixes.

Option 1: Submit feedback directly from the Teams mobile app

    1. Open Microsoft Teams on your mobile device
    2. Tap your profile picture
    3. Select Help & feedback
    4. Choose Send feedback > Report a problem
    5. Provide detailed information, including:
      • Device model and OS version
      • App version
      • Description of message sync failures, notification issues, freezes, and lag
      • Frequency and duration of the issue

    Option 2: Microsoft Feedback Portal

You can also submit feedback via the Microsoft Feedback Portal, which is actively monitored by product teams.

    • Visit the Microsoft Feedback Portal
    • Navigate to Microsoft Teams · Community
    • Select Send feedback User's image
    • Clearly describe the issue, including the persistence over multiple updates and failed remediation attempts

The Teams product team regularly reviews customer feedback, and many improvements and fixes are driven directly by user reports. Submitting your experience there is the best way to ensure visibility and prioritization.

As forum moderators, I don’t have the ability to change or override Microsoft Teams product design or mobile app behavior, but I'm always here to explain current behavior, validate concerns, and guide users to the correct escalation and feedback channels.

After submitting your feedback, feel free to share the link here. I’d be happy to upvote it, and other users with the same need can support it as well. This also helps increase visibility across the Microsoft Q&A community.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. While this response may not provide an immediate fix, I hope it clarifies the situation and helps you move forward in the most effective way.
