We used to see a popup in Azure Data Factory about migration to Fabric Lakehouse, but that notification is no longer appearing. Could you let us know if the migration is still required? If so, is there a timeline for it?

Attaching the screenshot of how it used to popup for reference!

Hi USHA SREE GENJI (NON EA SC ALT),
    Thankyou for reaching microsoft Q&A!
Sorry for the delay in response.

That notification isn’t showing anymore, but there hasn’t been any official update indicating a mandatory migration. Your existing Azure Data Factory pipelines will continue to run as-is, and there’s no enforced cutoff or published timeline for moving to Fabric at this point.

Moving to Fabric Lakehouse / Fabric Data Factory is more of a recommended path if you want the newer unified analytics experience and tighter integration across workloads, but it’s not something you’re required to do immediately.

You can plan and evaluate the migration based on your own timeline. If you’re considering it and want help estimating effort or approach, feel free to share a bit about your current setup and I can help you with that.

    Hello Usha !

Thank you for posting on MS Learn Q&A0

The migration is not currently mandatory since it is an optional modernization path. If you check the doc, you will understand that it is an assessment based and incremental upgrade that you can do at your own pace and you can still mount ADF into Fabric without altering the existing environment.

If the old popup is no longer appearing, that doesn’t by itself mean migration is required or discontinued. The current documented experience is to use the Migrate to Fabric (Preview) / assessment flow in ADF or the PS migration tool, when you want to evaluate readiness.

Hey, the common pop up which you might be seeing is for migration from Azure data factory to fabric data pipelines.

It is not a mandatory aspect as ADF is not getting deprecated.

It is just a suggestion to move to Fabric the latest offering trend in MSFT
