I've been using Teams for about 3 years and over the last 2 years have been able to screenshot from my other screen, and paste from the clipboard into Teams. Today (4/22/26) I cannot. I've reset my computer. I have also copied a screenshot to the clipboard, and then pasted it to a Word doc without a problem. Did something change in Teams? And how can I change it back?

    Hi @Mike,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I would like to provide you with the following information.

At this time, there is an ongoing issue affecting Microsoft Teams. Some users have reported that they are unable to paste URLs, text, or images into chats within the Microsoft Teams application.

You can find detailed information about this issue under incident ID TM1279908 in Microsoft 365 Admin Center > Health > Service health.

Note: The steps mentioned above require an account with tenant administrator permissions. If you do not have administrator access, please contact your organization’s IT department for assistance.

At present, Microsoft recommends using the Ctrl + V keyboard shortcut to paste content. If you are using macOS, please use Command + V instead.

You do not need to take any action at this time. Once the issue is resolved, Microsoft will release an update and the problem will be automatically fixed.

If you would like to receive the latest updates regarding this issue, you can click “Are you experiencing this issue?” on the Service Health page. Once the issue is addressed, you will receive the earliest available updates.

I hope this information is helpful

If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to share them in the comments on this post so I can continue to support you.

I look forward to continuing the conversation.

The available material does not describe specific changes in Microsoft Teams, so no confirmed product change or Teams-specific setting can be cited from this context.

From the context, only general clipboard behavior and clipboard-access blocking can be used to troubleshoot:

    1. Confirm system clipboard is working (already confirmed by pasting into Word).
    2. If using Teams in a web browser instead of the desktop client, verify that the browser is not blocking clipboard access for the Teams site:
      • In Microsoft Edge:
        1. Select the Lock icon / View site information button in the address bar.
        2. Under Permissions for this site, find Clipboard.
        3. Set Clipboard to Allow.
      • In Google Chrome:
        1. Select View site information in the address bar.
        2. Locate Clipboard.
        3. Toggle Clipboard to On for that site.
    3. On Windows, verify that clipboard features are functioning normally at OS level:
      • Open clipboard history with Windows logo key + V. If prompted, turn clipboard history on.
      • Or go to Start > Settings > System > Clipboard and ensure clipboard history is enabled and working.

If screenshots paste correctly into Word and other apps, and browser clipboard permissions are set to Allow, then the remaining cause is likely specific to Teams (for example, a recent update, policy, or bug), which is not covered in the provided material.
