    Hi, Norman Coyne

Please note that our forum is a public platform, and we will modify your question to hide your personal information in the description. Kindly ensure that you hide any personal or organizational information the next time you post an error or other details to protect personal data.

This usually means PowerPoint is failing when it tries to hand the file or link off to your email setup, not that the presentation itself is damaged. It can also happen if you use Send a Link before the file is saved to OneDrive, or if your PC is using webmail instead of a desktop mail app like Outlook.

Here are some suggestions you can try:

First, save the presentation to OneDrive and then try File > Share > Email > Send a Link again, because that feature only works from a shared cloud location.

If you normally use Gmail, Yahoo, or another browser-based email, it is suggested that you skip PowerPoint’s built-in email option and instead open your email manually, then attach the file or paste the share link yourself.

If you do use Outlook, make sure it is installed, signed in, and set as the default mail app in Windows. If that still fails, run an Online Repair for Office from Control Panel > Programs and Features.

If the “Oops” message keeps coming back, it is recommended that you reset PowerPoint by renaming %appdata%\Microsoft\PowerPoint to PowerPoint.old, then reopen the app. You can also disable COM add-ins in File > Options > Add-ins since add-ins sometimes break the share/send function.

Thank you for your patience in reading, I hope this information has been helpful to you.
