I've created multiple chat threads and I would like to save them for future reference, where or how can I save them?

    Hi @Erica

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

If you’d like to save a thread or message in a Teams channel for future reference, you can do so by following the steps below:

How to save a channel message or thread

    1. Go to the channel where the conversation is located.
    2. Locate the message or thread you want to save.

If the channel is using Thread layout

    • Hover over the message you want to keep.
    • Select the three dots (More options).
    • Click Save this message.  User's image

If the channel is using Post layout

    • Hover over the post or conversation.
    • Select the three dots (More options).
    • Choose Save this message.  User's image

Once saved, you can access it anytime by going to the Saved section at the top of Teams.

In Microsoft Teams chats and channels, individual messages and posts can be saved for later reference.

To save a chat or channel message:

    1. Hover over the message or post.
    2. Select More options (the three dots).
    3. Click Save this message.

    Where to find saved messages:

    1. After at least one message is saved, a Saved section appears at the top of the list of chats and channels.
    2. Select Saved to see all saved items.
    3. Use the chats or channels filters under Saved to narrow the list.
    4. Select any saved item to open the original chat or channel in a new pane and view the message in context.

To remove a message from Saved:

    1. Hover over the saved message (either in the original chat/channel or in the Saved list).
    2. Select More options > Unsave this message.

    Notes:

    • If there are no saved messages, the Saved section does not appear.
    • If a saved message is edited, the saved copy updates to show the edits.
    • If a saved message is deleted, its title still appears in Saved with the note Message has been deleted by author, and selecting it still opens the chat or channel so the deletion can be seen in context.
