I put the HDD back but each time I restart the computer I have to unblock it with the bitlocker code to view it. How can I make the code the same as the rest of the system so it won't need to ask again for the code?

    Welcome Brian Fisher,

I understand how frustrating it can be after reinstalling Windows and reconnecting your HDD, BitLocker is asking for the unlock key on every restart.

    • Can you confirm if the HDD is set to “Auto-unlock” in BitLocker settings?
    • Is this HDD used only as a secondary data drive, or does it contain any system or boot files?
    • Have you tried the steps in the previous answer before?

I look forward to your reply so we can continue working together to address the issue.
