Hi Naved Malik,
I understand how confusing this can be, especially when everything works normally, but suddenly stops responding during installation.
Please try these solutions:
Solution 1: Use the official Surface Recovery Image (Recommended)
Microsoft recommends reinstalling Windows using a Surface-specific recovery image, which includes all required drivers:
- It will reinstall Windows with correct drivers and firmware
- Ensures keyboard/touchpad work during setup
Official steps: https://support.microsoft.com/surface-recovery-image
Solution 2: Continue installation with external keyboard/mouse
Since your external devices are already working:
- You can finish installing Windows using USB keyboard/mouse
- After installation completes:
- Install Surface drivers manually from Microsoft
